CITY INTRODUCES NEW ASSISTANT FIRE CHIEF, ELLEN TAYLOR
ANN ARBOR, Mich., April 4, 2012 — The City of Ann Arbor Fire Department is proud to introduce new assistant fire chief, Ellen Taylor, also the first woman to serve in this role in the department’s 123-year history. Taylor has been promoted from within the department after 17 years of service, where she recently served as a fire prevention inspector, and prior to that was a lieutenant for five years.
“Ellen’s history with this department, her knowledge, professionalism, and her rapport with our other fire personnel are among the qualities which make her the ideal candidate for this role,” said Ann Arbor Fire Chief Chuck Hubbard. “I am pleased to have her leadership in place as we continue to provide the highest quality of service and protection to the Ann Arbor community.”
Taylor replaces current Assistant Fire Chief Steve Lowe, who has decided to return to his previous rank of battalion chief.
